The idea of a phone that not only answers calls but also performs tasks entirely on your behalf once sounded like science fiction. Agent Centric Decision Making Phone
The Step X Neo is designed to eliminate the traditional app based experience. Instead of opening individual applications, users interact with AI agents that manage tasks automatically. According to the company, Step AOS has been created with a completely agent centric architecture. Memory management, decision making, and security functions have all been designed separately so that the phone can better understand what users need and act accordingly.
Reports also suggest that the device includes an interactive secondary display on the back, somewhat similar to the lighting interface seen on Nothing smartphones. Step Fun has announced partnerships with major Chinese platforms such as Meituan, Baidu, JD.com, and WPS to expand the phone’s capabilities. However, the company has not yet revealed all the technical specifications or the price of the device. The smartphone is expected to launch in China by the end of the year. The Nubia M53, introduced in 2025 through a collaboration between ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, and ZTE, also aimed to provide an AI driven experience.
